Solar Technician Program
This course will introduce you to photovoltaic
(PV) design, installation, and maintenance of
PV systems. The classroom theory and handson
training will cover the following learning
objectives: PV markets and applications,
safety basics, electricity basics, solar energy
fundamentals, PV module fundamentals, system
components, PV system sizing principles, PV
system electrical design, PV system mechanical
design and performance analysis, maintenance,
and troubleshooting. At the end of the course,
students will be eligible to sit for the North
American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners
(NABCEP) Photovoltaic Associate (PVA) Exam.
The PVA credential is intended for people who
are currently working in, or seeking employment
in, the renewable energy industry.
