Southern Illinois CEJA Workforce Hub Solar Photovoltaic Training Program (USV)
This specialized training program prepares participants for entry-level solar careers. The curriculum covers PV system types, components, and applications; sales and economics including customer needs assessment, system sizing, and federal, state, and local incentive programs; design principles addressing electrical concepts, solar resource factors, equipment specifications, and structural requirements; installation procedures for racking, electrical components, energy storage, and system commissioning; and maintenance, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting techniques. Participants gain practical experience with diagnostic equipment, including multimeters, irradiance meters, infrared thermometers, and IV curve tracers, through real-world installations and lab work.
