Introduction to Photovoltaics
Get started in the growing field of solar energy with this hands-on course, where you’ll learn about planning and installing photovoltaic (PV) systems for homes and gain some of the basic skills needed for entry-level jobs in solar installation. Topics include how solar energy components and systems work, methods for choosing the right equipment, and the design of grid-tied systems and off-grid systems. The course is ideal for beginners who have a basic understanding of electricity and math skills. High school diploma or equivalent required. Students completing this class will receive a 10-hour OSHA Certificate and will be eligible to take the optional exam for the nationally recognized NABCEP Photovoltaic Associate credential.
