Associates Degree of Applied Sciences in Solar Energy Technology
Th is educational program will produce a qualified workforce of Solar Energy Technicians to serve the emerging solar industry throughout the United States and potentially worldwide. Graduates of the program will possess the necessary skills to secure a position with a modern commercial solar farm operation or a residential solar installation company.
The awarding of a Certificate in Solar Energy Technology requires a student to complete a minimum of 30 elective credit hours (technical) in addition to the 19 hours of General Education courses.
Recommended Course Sequence:
First Semester: SE 100 Introduction to Solar PV, SE 101 Solar PV Fundamentals, WE 110 Electrical Theory, WE 250 Data Acquisition & Communications
Second Semester: SE 102 Solar PV Design, SE 103 Solar PV Operations & Maintenance, WE 105 Employability Skills, Safety, Blueprint Reading
Third Semester: SE201 Solar PV Advanced Design, SE202 Solar PV Advanced Installation
In addition to the gen ed and required courses above, you will choose electives to fulfil the required 64 hours for the AAS Degree.
